Oscar Pet Foods comprises a manufacturing plant, a warehouse and offices and operates for 10 hours each day, Monday to Friday.
A major concern was that whenever a lamp failed they had to hire in a costly cherry picker to gain access to the light fitting.
The LED alternative:
The existing lighting was made up of fluorescent tubes and Metal Halide warehouse lamps. All of these were changed to their LED equivalents.
The results:
The annual cost of operating the existing lighting system was £10,620
After the switch to LED the annual cost reduced to £2,322
Annual savings made by switching to LED are £8,298 / 76%
Total savings over the lifetime of the LED will be £107,874
